Welcome to the second to last week of term!
It’s been a busy time in middle and senior school, with another great week to come before a well-earned holiday. Our senior students have been getting their exam papers back with their next learning steps to help them prepare for their Cambridge Exams coming up. The Year 13s are organising a Carnival for next Thursday, which will also be a non-uniform day. Students will need to bring in $2 for the non-uniform day and money to spend at the Carnival as there will be a wide range of stations and food stalls. They are fundraising for their legacy project which will be for the benefit of the students at Chilton for years to come.
We are always very grateful for the wonderful support that our senior and middle school students offer on our Open Days which have been very successful. Visitors to the school on these days always comment on how impressed they are with their student guides.
Have a wonderful weekend đ

The Middle School music classrooms have been bursting with creativity this week as the Year 8 music classes began their song writing unit. Classes have been investigating the song writing process, how to structure a song and what elements make up a classic song. This week it was the Year 8âs turn to start writing. They brainstormed potential topics, began writing lyrics and working out chord combinations. We will look forward to seeing where this creative process takes these emerging young song writers.

7S enjoys their statistics topic investigating their favourite ice-cream flavour using PPDAC. Salted Caramel is the winner!

Here are some of the year 7 Materials students with their pencil cases they constructed. They learnt about logo design then designed a logo that represented themselves, they made a screen of their logo, screen printed it on some fabric and stitched this onto a pencil case that they constructed from scratch. A new skill of inserting zips was mastered during pencil case construction.
Year 7 students enjoyed interviewing a Year 13 buddy and making them a poster. The senior students were very excited to get these and they are a colourful addition to the Common Room.

We are very thankful to our students who acted as Open Day guides over last Sunday, and today. We had great feedback from the visitors as you girls did a fantastic job of showcasing the school.
An update will be coming home regarding this.
