1. Excellent Academic Results

Each student achieves to their own personal best

Excellence looks different for each learner. For some, this will include being a top scholar in the Cambridge or NCEA qualification. Every year, Chilton students are awarded the prestigious honour of being top scholars globally in a range of subjects. For others, excellence will manifest itself in mastering a concept that they had previously not grasped. We want each student to have the agency to pursue their own personal excellence whether that be in the academic arena or in the co-curricular sphere.

2. Customised Qualification Dual Pathways

Cambridge and NCEA

All learners are unique and therefore require a customised pathway which is aligned with their interests and strengths. We are able to advise students whether NCEA or the Cambridge pathway is best suited to them. Both qualifications are well designed and robust. It is our job to determine which one is the best fit for each student in consultation with individuals and their families.

3. Small Class Sizes and Individualised Learning

Personalised approach

Small class sizes allow for individualised learning and increased student engagement. Teachers know their students and are able to teach in a personalised way rather than relying on a

one-size-fits all approach. Personalised learning programmes are also available for students with particular learning needs. We teach students to identify what sort of learner they are so that they can maximise every teaching moment and learning opportunity.

4. Quality Teaching

Expert teachers in their fields

Our teachers are highly skilled and passionate about imparting knowledge and they have the ability to deliver content in creative ways. High levels of student engagement means that learners enjoy their classroom experiences. Each individual is supported and encouraged to learn in a way that is meaningful to them. We seek to instil a love of learning in students by finding out what piques their interests and what captures their imagination.

5. Quality Care

Student wellbeing is paramount

Quality Care in a supportive environment is critical to the success of our young people. When students are happy, they learn. We offer access to a psychologist, physiotherapist and careers advisor. Our pastoral care system consists of a senior leadership team, form teachers, deans and a chaplain who all work together to help students navigate their Chilton experience. This partnership approach allows students to have a number of trusted adults with whom they can engage.

6. Holistic Education and Whānau Approach

We educate the whole girl

At Chilton, we consider that a rich education consists of a range of experiences both in and outside of the classroom. Our students are nurtured to become thoughtful, resilient and kind contributors to society. The whānau approach instils each student with a sense of working together as a community where older students mentor their younger counterparts on their leadership journey.

From camps to enrichment programmes to community service, our students are involved in a smorgasbord of experiences to pique their interests, develop their strengths and shape the path they will take as they step out into the world.

A holistic education produces learners who are curious, compassionate and capable. There are no limits to what a Chilton girl can do and the extent to which a Chilton girl can contribute on the global stage.
