Year 0 and 1 in Ms Odinot’s class have been retelling the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. During this process, they have been learning about how a Narrative is put together by an author.
Firstly, we discussed the orientation of the story which tells the reader who is in the story, when it happened and where it took place.
The next part of the story outlines the problems. In Jack’s case, he and his mum had many problems.
Finally, in the resolution, the author tells how the problems were resolved. The girls have been putting together their writing, art work and brainstorming, to show the process. They are very proud of their work.

Twas the week before school ends and all through the school,
Were children singing Christmas songs and making things that were cool!
The children were so excited and filled with Christmas cheer,
In Year 2, handmade presents and decorations began to appear.
All glittered and fashioned with pom poms and glue,
And of course, the classroom floor got decorated too!
As our Year comes to an end we celebrate the mountains we have climbed,
We are so proud of ourselves and how we all sparkled and shined!
