Preschool Weekly Bulletin – 20 August

Zoom lessons

Penguins

Our Penguins spent time building together. We made squares, circles, triangles and bridges out of blocks. We also tried to see how high we could stack our blocks to make a tower.

The Penguins have enjoyed reading some of their favourite books from Preschool over zoom. Here we were testing our memory to see if we could remember the te reo Māori names for our face.

Kea

The Kea children had so much fun continuing to learn the letter T – We made triangle shaped people, dressed our teddies with ties  and built tall  towers.  We also read lots of stories – guess which one is our favourite;

Yes it is  ‘The tiger who came to tea”.

Maui

The Maui’s continue to learn about our letter of the week T. We made toast together for our morning tea, read the books ‘Tractors’ by Catherine Foreman and ‘Terrific Trains’ by Tony Mitton and Ant Parker and sang songs about teddy bears and turtles.

Maui – favourite numbers

The Maui’s also practiced their number recognition by driving/flying/sailing their transport vehicles to the numbers they were shown. They even shared what their favourite numbers were with their classmates!

Kotare

A number of Kotare children joined our 11.00am session to learn how to fold and decorate paper Airplanes as we talk about words that start with the letter A. Some of us decorated our planes as Army planes, some as Airforce. We then flew as high as we could possibly get them. We all laughed to see that Mrs Eatwell’s landed in her pot plant!

Have a great weekend everyone!
