Despite the changeable weather we have had such an amazing week in Primary! Beginning with the Year 6 girls sharing their Exhibition work and ending with our Speech Finals.
The Year 6 girls have worked incredibly hard this term, researching, analysing and presenting their Exhibition work. The girls chose an issue they were interested in and Exhibition groups were formed around the issues chosen. From there they developed questions to focus their inquiry.
Part of the process is collaborating, and this can be challenging as compromise is required!
We are so proud of the girls and how they navigated the highs and lows of the process.
To ensure our Year 6 parents could see the work in its completed state we allowed them to come into the Exhibition spaces at specific times to view their daughters’ work this week. This was particularly important as Exhibition is the culmination of the learning, the skill development and the new understandings the girls have developed during their time in Primary.
Sincere thanks to Mrs Bleier for overseeing this process by engendering enthusiasm, guiding their work, corralling their ideas and even mopping up the tears! It was all worth it! Congratulations to them all!
Our Primary Speech Finals were held in the JC Foyer and looked quite different this year. Due to being in Level 2 we were unable to host an audience or indeed our Old Girl judge! Alongside our representative from the Old Girls our Principal judges the speeches, therefore this year it was up to Mrs Hughes, with our special guest judge Mrs Bayliss! The standard was so high. Congratulations to all our finalists and in particular, our Year group winners. Thanks to Mr Reynard who videoed each speech so parents of each of our finalists will be able to see their performance.
