Seraphim Excel at Big Sing 2021
On Wednesday 9 June 2021, Chilton’s Seraphim Choir attended the Big Sing held at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington.
Our girls entered the stage looking immaculate in their new uniforms and sang beautifully. This group have only been together since Week 6 of Term 1 and, in that time, they have made such progress. The music chosen was challenging and showed the obvious hard work that had gone into the preparation.
Seraphim walked away with the cup for Best New Zealand Performance. This was for singing ‘A Charm for Rain – He Tua I Te Rangi’ by New Zealand composer, David Hamilton. Chilton has won this cup 5 times before – in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009 & 2010 – so it was nice to bring it home again!
Congratulations to Thomas Nikora and Andrew Atkins for their hard work and dedication, and Mrs Hartley for the wonderful new uniforms!
